Last week one of our service users received the keys to his own accommodation, so this week some of our staff and volunteers went to help with some good old DIY.

Last week we got to present the work of WYCPP to a local church group. It was so good to have one of our service users share about his experience of working with WYCCP and the support that he has received.
We just want to say a big THANK YOU to the Metcalfe Smith Trust for the grants they have provided for several of our service users recently. These grants have genuinely made a huge impact to their lives.
Big shout to all the women of WYCCP on International Women’s Day.
The phrase has never been so fitting when summing up these women, that ‘not all heroes wear capes’. Each day they choose to come alongside those who need support, to be a voice for those who have no voice, to champion others in times of adversity and to give them another chance at a fresh start.
Compassionate, Reliable, Brave, Diligent, Gracious, Selfless, Encourager, Defender, Tenacious, Strong are just some of the qualities they possess. #internationalwomensday #WYCCPwonderwomen #girlpower #trueheroes
Spring is here early at the WYCCP office. These flowers were planted by Dave, who is one of our service users.
It was so good to be ‘out and about’ with some our Fresh-Start group last week. We enjoyed a trip to the cinema to watch the Bob Marley movie.
Our Fresh-Start group had a great time on Friday, we met for the first time at the New Wortley Community Centre. What a great facility in the heart of the community, offering so many activities and a welcoming environment.
Last week our Director and Office Manager attended the Mayor’s Safer Communities Fund Awards and we were so pleased to receive a grant which enables us to continue our great work.
A lovely gesture to the staff from one of our service users.
It is always good to receive such positive feedback from our service users. We are making a difference one life at a time!
This week our resettlement team were out on their team lunch. They took some time to discuss their work and plan and prepare for the weeks ahead. We are so privileged to have a team who are so dedicated to supporting their service users.
More great feedback from one of our Service Users. We continue to do what we can, to help and support them in their life after prison.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!!
Wherever this season finds you, we hope you experience the fullness of HOPE, PEACE, JOY & LOVE.
We just want to say a big THANK YOU to the Clothing Bank and to all those who donate to this amazing charity.
This service is so important to us and enables us to further support our service users in a practical way.
This week we have been handing out Christmas boxes to our service users and also toys for those with children.
We are so grateful to North Church and also Life Church Bradford for their generosity in providing the boxes and the toys.
We just want to take a moment to thank the Trussell Trust and our local foodbanks for their continuous help and support.
We are so grateful for the foodbank service, as it plays such an important role in enabling us to support the practical needs of our service users.
Some of our staff attended this session yesterday and it was so encouraging to hear from ex prisoners who have changed their lives. To hear them share so passionately that there is ‘life after prison’ was so inspiring.
FRESH-START is our service user peer support group. We have been meeting monthly but now ‘hot off the press’ we are meeting weekly. This is a great opportunity for the men to meet and chat in a social capacity but it is also designed to have a focus on community action. The group are looking for opportunities to volunteer and support local charities and organisations.
You can nominate us to help our charity be in with the chance to receive the vital funds we need to continue doing our great work.
Head to www.movementforgood.com and click on ‘nominate a charity’ then input West Yorkshire Community Chaplaincy Project to vote.
Thanks for your support, it is greatly appreciated!
It is humbling to receive feedback like this from our service users.
We can’t do ‘EVERYTHING’ but we can do ‘SOMETHING’ and that ‘SOMETHING’ can mean ‘EVERYTHING’
